my project idea

my proposal for the vanguard project was going to be the 25 things that bother me but i realized that i couldn't have more then one pic for each if i did all 25 so I'm limiting it to 7. That way i can at least get more then one for each. After i take all my pics I'm going to take all my photos and take one big one for my final. when i shared my proposal Cathie and Mr. Kirsch both said it would be a good idea to lower the amount and b/c i was thinking about it i m going to do just that my top 7 bothers. The picture below is a picture taken by my friend of what is a girl being left out feeling all bad inside and has a bunch of stereo types written all over her as if they were permanently branded into her skin there to stay for all eternity. I chose this picture b/c my biggest problem is of the stereo types and the labels being passed through our society as if they mean nothing.

top 7 things that bug me

  1. homophobic remarks.
  2. majorly self obsessed people/everything is about them.
  3. people who harm themselves.
  4. smokers.
  5. when two people almost collide in the hall by heading in the same direction to move around each other.
  6. bipolar people.
  7. hypocrites.

every day collisions

this picture s of the every day collisions that happen when your walking down the hall and another person turns to go around you and you turn the same way and you keep doing that for about 3 times and you finally go around them.this makes most ppl feel embarrassed, stupid, and angry.

"fairytalesandnightmares" "series: an Odyssey in Holga" By: Laura Burlton

1.The series to me is about the likeness of a fantasy dream and a nightmare. Part scary and part soothing. Deep meaning of reality life is cruel and life can be a wonderful thing.
2.I figure the series came around by maybe her having dreams that were on the verge of being nightmares and a fairytale the pictures themselves remind me of "Alice in Wonderland"
3.The series seems more artistic to me then journalistic. For the reason that there isn't a real reason for the pictures the way they are posed.
4. one of the photos makes me really disturbed the picture itself is a great picture it just seems to be more nightmare then fantasy http://www.lauraburlton.com/images/2_headed_ori_toned_300dpi.jpg little girl looks really scary and scared herself.
5. i wouldn't really want to change the series but i would add more concept to the series to add more relations between the nightmare's and the fairy tales that plague our world.
6.Everyday life has to deal with the nightmares we don't always see or the perfect dreams we always see. Our world is fogged by what is and what isn't. ppl build up the idea that money will solve all the problems they have and in other places the hell that ppl deal with just to make it through the next day or even the next hour. Not knowing that they could die any moment from civil wars, diseases, rapist, drugs, or just being a independent person.

vangaurd

my photography class is doing a project about the county we live in and the surrounding areas should be fun to see all the views of people in my area and what they think of it.
